Sunday Reflection - FOURTH SUNDAY OF LENT
1 Samuel 16: 1b, 6-7, 10-13a; Ephesians 5: 8-14; John 9: 1-41 (Rev. Dr. Francis Perry Azah) The verse preceding today's Gospel introduces the central point of our celebration. "I am the light of the world, anyone who follows me will have the light of life" (John 8:12). The entire liturgy therefore celebrates the mystery of Christ - the light of the world; the light which dispels the darkness of our minds and our hearts. We celebrate Christ, who heals our spiritual blindness.

God doesn't simply suggest to Abraham that he might consider joining God's great work. God gives Abraham a clear imperative: "Go forth from the land of your kinsfolk and from your father's house to a land that I will show you." God takes the initiativ
